LESSONS FROM A JOURNEY TO ISRAEL (Part 2)

REMINDERS: Lessons from Experiences in Israel.

I am continuing to share some reminders from my recent trip to Israel. It was truly the trip of a lifetime as God allowed me to see up close both the amazing people of Israel and the grief they have endured at the hands of radical Islam. Please see Part I of this series.

Here is a continuation of those REMINDERS:

3. I am reminded that the Muslim call to prayer sounds like death while the Jewish and Christian prayers speak of life, especially Christianity which is built on the fact of an empty tomb.

Over 500 witnesses profess to have literally seen Jesus after the resurrection.

4. I am reminded that people like Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens and Marjorie Taylor Greene, have no idea what they are talking about and are adding to the antisemitic culture in America.

Greene criticized President Trump for bombing the nuclear sites in Iran. They should be ashamed. Please don’t listen to them. I would like to tell you they are idiots, but I shouldn’t use that word…

5. I am reminded that Christianity is historical.

There was real streets Jesus walked upon, there are specific miracles that are documented, there are archeological discoveries that confirm the message of the Bible.

Our faith is not blind it is based on factual information about the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, however the last step in becoming a Christian is to receive Jesus by faith (Ephesians 2:8-9). Christianity is real because Jesus is real.

6. I am reminded that Jesus’ tomb is still empty.

Muhammed is in his tomb, Buddha in his, all religious and political leaders still in the grave, but Jesus is still not there. I came out of the garden tomb and announced to my friends, “It’s still empty!”

7. I am reminded that pain can attempt to hijack you and keep you from doing the things you desire to do, but you can choose to push through it.

We stood on the streets where Jesus carried His own cross, fell, was beaten, scourged, and crucified. He understands our pain and grief as Isaiah 53 plainly tells us. You can trust Jesus with your pain. He understands completely. I am so grateful to serve a Savior Who understands our pain and grief.

8. I am reminded that Jesus heals. He heals bodies, minds, emotions, and relationships.

There were two miracles of Jesus recorded in Jerusalem. We stood on the sight of those two making us remember that Jesus is the Great Physician. However, it is also a reminder that even if He does not choose to heal us, He is enough, His presence and power are enough for us to get through whatever we are going through.

9. I am reminded that Jesus forgives, and His grace overcomes our sin.

We stood in the place where Peter said his final words of betrayal denying Jesus and where the rooster crowed. Yet, Jesus forgave him and assigned him the most significant eternal instructions on how Christianity can change the world.

10. I am reminded of just how much Satan hates the Jews and hates Israel.

The question becomes why? It is because our Savior Jesus Christ was born of a virgin and came to address our sin problem once and for all. Satan will never forgive Israel for that reason because it is about the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. It’s Satan’s reminder that he lost, and Jesus won!
