The Power of Clean Speech
Men,
Over the years one of the things that I have consistently seen with men is that they think they need to use bad or vulgar language..
It’s unclear if this type of talk makes men feel like more of a man or that men are trying to command respect some how. Nothing could be further from the truth. As a matter of fact it not only degrades your own image but has a reflection on your entire personality your moral compass not to mention your reputation.
The Bible reminds us that our words matter and the language we use represents the God we serve.
As Christian and Godly men, we should strive to keep our speech clean and honoring to God!
Ephesians 4:29 says, “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good for the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.”
Our words should build people up, not tear them down or reflect the same language the world uses. God calls us to put these things aside as we grow in Him.
Jesus made it even clearer in Matthew 12:34, “For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.”
When we allow God to shape our hearts, our words will naturally begin to reflect Him. Men people are watching how we lead—our families, our friends, and those around us. Let’s challenge ourselves to speak in a way that honors God, shows self-control, and sets an example for others. Clean speech isn’t just about avoiding certain words—it’s about having a heart that desires to represent God and Christ in everything we say. Let our words be ones that bring life, encouragement, and honor to God.
