Lessons From Israel – Part IV

Let’s continue our exciting journey!

From December 1 through 8 2025, I had the amazing opportunity to travel to Israel and communicate with leaders from Israel. This is part 4 of my continuing to share the lessons I learned from that trip.

The State of Israel invited 1000 pastors and influencers to come and experience a behind-the-scenes look at Israel. We heard from their leaders, their generals, and survivors. It was unprecedented, this had never before happened. It was a way we could show Israel our support for them. It is the first time in history that 1000 pastors and influencers gathered in Israel to show them of our support.

Here is a continuation of the lessons learned from this trip to Israel:

21. I am reminded of the price of evil and what happens when we fail to confront evil by trying to appease enemies of truth and our faith.

We stood in the place where over (1200) Jews were slaughtered, and many taken hostage. We heard the stories of the survivors and of the wives, husbands, fathers, mothers, who endured undue agony and pain all sponsored by evil through Hamas and other terrorist organizations. It was their 911 event. You cannot appease evil. Evil must be confronted in the power of a resurrected Savior.

We must attempt to confront the ideology of hatred toward the Jews. I am reminded that Communism and Islam have combined forces not because they love each other, it is because they hate America and hate a biblical worldview. Islam has already virtually taken over Europe, especially in the United Kingdom. The politics of appeasement will be their downfall and will be ours if we ever go that route. I call it being Mamdani-ized (new mayor of NYC), where radical Islam and Communism join hands of hatred toward everything God loves.

The attacks of October 7, when Hamas murdered more than 1,200 innocent men, women, and children — including 46 Americans — in the most brutal terrorist attack in Israel's history. Alongside these killings, Hamas took 254 hostages, among them 12 Americans. (AI).

When you choose evil there are horrendous consequences.

We don’t need to Woke up we need to Wake up and realize this is a spiritual battle played out in real life actions and consequences.

22. I am reminded that the only power on earth to change things comes from the resurrected Jesus.

What a joy to be in the land of God’s miracles. One day we visited the Pool of Bethesda where I was having a hard time getting up from where I was seated and one woman teasingly said to me, “Are you waiting for us to carry you to the pool?” (Jesus healing a paralyzed man John 5:2-).

23. I am reminded that the Lord’s Supper is the ultimate place of experiencing God.

We chose another person to serve the Lord’s Supper to and to confess our need for healing. I was able to share my need with a dear pastor from Riverview, Florida, Pastor David Speicher and he shared with me. That was such a God moment. God moments happen as we take the Lord’ s Supper. May we never take that for granted.

24. I was reminded of the grace of God as we visited the tomb of beloved King David.

I thought about his passion for the Lord God. We stayed in the hotel where on that ground David danced before the Lord. I was also reminded that David was a great sinner, but a greater repenter and that God forgave him for the sin of adultery and murder. God will also forgive you when you repent. I thought about how as a young man with a stone in a slingshot, he killed the giant Goliath reminding us that the power of God is greater than the power of evil, the power of Satan. I was reminded that we too must take on giants that are attacking our faith.

25. I am reminded that showing the love of Christ and choosing joy, is the best advertisement of our faith.

I am reminded of the power of a smile. One pastor stopped me and said, “I couldn’t help but notice your always smiling and I know you are in great pain.” A simple smile, that God puts there, is one of the best confirmations of our faith. It takes so little to be a little kinder, a little nicer, than is necessary. It opens doors of opportunity that you can walk through and share your faith.

Be sure to return as I continue sharing the lessons I’ve learned from this life changing trip to Israel!
