Lessons From Israel – Part V

Today we are continuing our series on Lessons from Israel.

26. I am reminded of how many people know about Lakeland, Florida and said such positive things about it. May we never take for granted the joy of living here.

From here, we can touch the world, beginning with our world, the people in our world. God’s hand is upon our church.

27. I am reminded that the world has been blessed because of Israel.

They excel at technology and security. They are building lasers that will take out any rocket that comes their way. We visited their border patrol headquarters, and it is like AI meeting the Jetsons. We need to respect their wisdom and technological abilities to fight evil. We must always put pressure on our politicians to stand with and stand up for Israel. Why? Because God does!

28. I am reminded of the need to meditate upon Psalm 122.

Corrie Ten Boom prayed this prayer all her life, for the peace of Jerusalem. Her family had been praying it for over 100 years. I invite each of us to meditate and pray based on Psalm 122.

29. I am reminded that Walls of Prayer matter.

On two different nights we visited the Western Wall or Wailing Wall where you take your prayer requests, put them on a piece of paper and insert it into one of the cracks in the wall. I prayed for family, friends, and church very specifically. 16 million people gather each year to pray at the wall because they believe in the power of prayer. Prayer is the only source that could transform our world, your world. Three times a year they will take the requests and then bury them in Jerusalem and if God wants to resurrect them, it’s all in His hands.

The wall of prayer must always be occupied by God’s people crying out to Him. I am feeling a need for us to have more set prayer times.

30. I am reminded that many things change, but some things do not, like the Word of God and the message of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.

Our methods of reaching people must change, however our message must NEVER change.
