You Have a Platform, Are You Using It?
When it’s done, it’s done !!
Watching the news this morning we all heard about the recent passing of Mike Ditka.
Much of the world has reflected on his incredible accomplishments as a football player, coach, and sports icon. His toughness, leadership, competitive spirit, and success will be remembered for generations. And rightfully so. But it also makes me think about a much deeper question:
When our lives are over, what will we be remembered for?
As men, we can spend our entire lives building careers, leading businesses, accumulating wealth, earning respect, raising our profiles, and achieving things the world considers great.
There is nothing inherently wrong with those accomplishments. God can use our talents, influence, and success for His glory if we surrender to his will. But will our legacy reflect how we used the platforms God gave us to point others toward Him?
Here are a few important question to ask ourselves:
Will people remember not only what we achieved, but how we loved?
Not only how we led, but whom we served?
Not only the influence we had, but how we used that influence to help others discover a relationship with Jesus Christ?
Whether we lead a company, coach a team, raise a family, serve in our church, or simply influence a handful of people in our daily lives, every man has a platform.
Our platforms may differ in size, but our responsibility to use them for God’s glory remains.
The world measures a man’s greatness by his accomplishments.
God measures a man’s greatness by things much deeper:
Faithfulness, Humility, Love, Service, Honor, Truthfulness and most importantly A Life that Bears Fruit for His Kingdom.
Now let’s go make a difference for our Lord and Savior!
