Total Surrender: What It Really Means for Christian Men to Let God Have Everything

Today we are talking about surrender… in other words letting God have all of your life, all of it!!

Have we truly surrendered everything to God? It’s easy to say “God, I trust You,” or “yes I let go and let God” Guys surrender is not proven in words.

True surrender is proven in the areas we’re still trying to control.

What does surrender really mean? Surrender means opening every room of our life—nothing locked, nothing hidden, nothing off-limits. Let’s ask ourselves honestly: What am I still holding onto? Here’s the thing guys, God doesn’t just want the comfortable parts—He wants it all, especially the places we struggle, fear, and fight. Here are some key examples we  must truly  surrender, and if we are being honest and real we all have these areas to work on:

•    Our Hearts — This represents  our desires, motives, and attitudes.     

•    Our Minds — meaning our thoughts, worries, anxieties, and the things we dwell on.

•    Our Relationships — marriage, family, friendships, and even the people we need to forgive.     

•    Our Habits — this is a big one, the things we do in private, our addictions, our patterns, our disciplines.     

•    Our Finances — probably the most difficult for Men…how we give, spend, save, and trust God as our provider.     

•    Our Future — our plans, dreams, goals, and the direction we think our life should go.     

•    Our Daily Decisions — how we work, how we respond, how we love, how we speak, how we lead, the examples we set.

The Bible says,

“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act.” — Psalm 37:5

and

“In all your ways submit to Him.” — Proverbs 3:6

Our egos usually tend to get in the way of us truly surrendered everything to God but surrender isn’t about losing control—it’s about giving control to the One who never fails. Today, let’s all take inventory. As we start our days let’s try to bring every area to God. Lay it down, trust Him with it, and watch Him transform our lives  from the inside out.
