Saved by the Cross: The Incredible Story of Aiden Perry
God got me up early one morning and I am convinced it was to hear the story of 20- year-old Aiden Perry from Ocala, Florida on The Fox and Friends First show.
While at a friend’s house he was shot point-blank in the chest. The 40-caliber bullet entered his chest and exiting near his armpit and then re-entering the body through his arm (Fox News Digital).
Now for the cross. His dad had given him a gold cross on a chain at Christmas and Aiden has worn it everyday since. The bullet hit the cross splitting it apart but deflecting the heart-destructive gunshot, thus saving his life. The trauma surgeon shared that had he not been wearing the cross, the outcome would have been totally different. Aiden said he wore the cross to share his faith in Christ.
If you are a Christian, you too have been saved by the cross, the cross of Jesus Christ.
I Corinthians 1:18 says:
“The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.”
The cross represents our Christian faith and the fact that our good outweighing our bad, will not get us to heaven. On the cross Jesus took your sin, He died in your place, He shed His blood to pay the price for your sin. When you receive Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord, what He did on the cross saves you and gives you eternal life. When you receive what Jesus did for you on the cross the outcome of your eternity is changed and that means heaven and not hell.
