What’s the big deal about going to church?

Men,

Attending church regularly is a big deal. There is something special about gathering together in the house of God to worship, praise, pray, and hear His Word.

Watching church online is ok and can be a blessing, especially when circumstances prevent us from attending, but when we are able, there is nothing quite like coming together with fellow believers to worship the Lord in his house.

As men, God has called us to lead not just financially, but spiritually.

Our wives are watching, our children are watching, and our neighbors and friends are watching. They learn from what we do, not just from what we say.

Joshua 24:15 declares, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

That means we must lead by example, making God a priority in our lives and bringing ourselves and our families into His presence at church consistently.

Men, being in church and taking our families to church on Sunday is just the beginning of our leadership. Our responsibility continues throughout the week in how we treat people especially our wives, how we raise our children, handle challenges, pray, study and live according to God’s Word.

We cannot expect others or our families to put God first if our actions show that everything else comes before Him.

Our children may not remember every sermon, but they will remember seeing their fathers worship, pray, and faithfully serve the Lord.

Let us not allow work, sports, hobbies, or the busyness of life to take priority over our relationship with God.

Hebrews 10:25 reminds us not to neglect gathering together.

Church strengthens our faith, encourages our hearts, and reminds us that we are part of the body of Christ.
