How God Calls Men to Love and Lead Their Wives
With mothers day fast approaching it may be a good time to remind us about the women in our life. Primarily of course for those of us who are married, our wife.
Does the Bible talk about how we as men are suppose to treat our wives and for that matter all the women in our life?
The Bible teaches that women, and especially our wives, should be treated with deep love, respect, and honor. Husbands are called to love their wives sacrificially, just as Christ loved the church to show patience, kindness, and selflessness (Ephesians 5:25).
The church of course for Jesus was His people and how did Jesus treat his people?
He loved them, fed them, provided for them, encouraged them, lifted them up prayed for them and guided them. Scripture also reminds us to treat women with understanding and honor, recognizing their value and dignity (1 Peter 3:7). Also beyond marriage, we are encouraged to treat all women with purity, respect, and care—as sisters, mothers, and neighbors (1 Timothy 5:2).
This should guide our actions, free from harshness or selfishness (Colossians 3:19). In all relationships, the Bible points us toward humility, gentleness, and genuine love, reflecting God’s heart in how we treat the women in our lives.
